Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
It was a lovely scheme. Every morning from 8 to 10 there was free breakfast with loads to choose from. Then I would go sit in my respective seat and get work assigned from a variety of people. Everyone was lovely; you could ask questions and you would learn a lot. Everyday we had insight sessions about different areas of the firm and a very nice lunch in the cafeteria. There were social events and feedback sessions too, so you really got to make the most out of the opportunity.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, several. From learning about complex client matters to even simply learning how to draft emails in a concise manner for your team and clients. I was able to build on my legal research skills, learnt how to use resources, and draft memos. Communication was built through group presentations and just networking, and learning to carry yourself and immerse yourself in the firm. I would say I have grown a lot and learnt a lot about how to be a useful and contributing member of the team.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture and general atmosphere was absolutely outstanding. I cannot think of one moment where I did not feel comfortable. The whole team – from staff, senior members, supervisors, and other colleagues; everyone was lovely and friendly. They were all so generous with their time, super polite, and I never felt out of place.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
It exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed every part of it - from the networking and coffee chats, to the work I got given, and receiving feedback. It was just a great two-week opportunity to learn about the firm, the people, and my own interests and passions.
