Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Working in a daily rental branch: selling protection packs, checking in customers, doing pick ups and ride backs for customers, as well as overseeing areas of the business for about a month/two months at a time (sales, risk, cost control, fleet management, and growth)
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
A good level of responsibility - the captaincies made sure I was manager of a certain area for about two months at a time. My branch manager still helped me oversee these processes but I was able to have a good level of responsibility. I was also responsible for checking vehicles in and out daily, which is a high level of responsibility as it is looking after very expensive assets.

I have become a lot more confident. I was very nervous when I first started. I have also learned what it takes to run a balanced and successful business most of all. I have also developed better sales skills which I previously had no experience in

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I could have received a bit more from my managers, busy days often mean there’s not enough time to allocate to staff training day to day. A lot of the training was in my own hands which was difficult at times
