Overall, how would you describe your experience at Visa?
I’ve gained exposure to payments and digital transformation topics, working with cross-functional teams across VCA, VAS, and product. This has helped me build strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to operate effectively in complex stakeholder environments.
What stands out most is the balance between responsibility and support - being trusted to take ownership of workstreams, while also having access to experienced colleagues and mentors. Overall, it’s been a strong learning environment and a solid foundation for building a career in consulting within payments.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
What I enjoy most is the problem-solving and variety, each project is different, and you get to work on complex challenges while seeing real impact for clients. It’s also a great environment to develop both analytical and stakeholder management skills.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
The collaborative team environment and regular feedback help as well, as it ensures visibility and continuous development. Overall, it’s a role where you can clearly see the impact of your work and feel part of the delivery.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
Visa’s benefits (such as health coverage, pension, stock programmes, and learning investment) help make the package competitive.
While workload can vary, overall I feel the package is aligned with the level of responsibility and learning you get in the role.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
The combination of technical skills, stakeholder management, and end-to-end project experience makes the skillset very transferable for future consulting or strategy roles.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
Formal training has been useful for building foundations, but the day-to-day role has been the biggest driver of skill growth.

While it can be fast-paced at times, the environment is collaborative and I feel comfortable reaching out for guidance when needed.

At the same time, it’s a high-performance culture, with a focus on delivering impact for clients. The hybrid and flexible working model also contributes to a more balanced and modern workplace.

While the experience can vary by team, overall the commitment is well-established and reflected in both the culture and day-to-day working environment.

The initiatives feel well-aligned to Visa’s core business and have meaningful impact at scale, although visibility can vary at a local level.

Why?
The role can be demanding at times, but overall it’s a good environment for development and gaining meaningful experience early in your career.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
The main difference is the variability in workload and tasks, which is hard to fully convey upfront, but this is typical and has been a positive from a development perspective.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Visa?
During onboarding, be proactive: ask questions, build relationships, and take advantage of the support structures in place. That makes a big difference in getting up to speed quickly.
