Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Visa?

I have really enjoyed my time at Visa. I genuinely think the culture that the company fosters is really positive and everyone in the company is happy to support graduates and network with them. Additionally, the rotational graduate programme is helpful to experience different roles within the business and discover what you do and don't enjoy. I would recommend the scheme.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have undertaken 3 different roles in my time at Visa due to the nature of my scheme.
• My third rotation was with the Global Clients team, working with a global FinTech to support account management and strategic initiatives across Core Issuing, Commercial, and Money Movement Solutions throughout Europe.
• I completed my second rotation in Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), contributing to pan-European consulting engagements across Money Movement Solutions, Commercial and B2B Travel. Additionally, I co-led the development of a new vertical segment strategy focused on commercial solutions and money movement.
• My first rotation was with Visa Commercial Solutions – SMB team, where I provided market insights to support issuer engagement and completed advanced Excel training to enhance data-driven decision-making.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

3/5
It depended on the team. In one of my teams I didn't feel the work I was tasked with was meaningful, but rather tasks to keep a graduate busy that didn't require much input from others. However, in my other teams I was in client facing teams where all the work I did I either got to first hand present to the client or someone else presented which overall always left me feeling like the work I was doing was meaningful and my teams have always shown they valued me.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
Yes, the benefits at Visa are really excellent and the pay is good especially compared to friends on different graduate schemes

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
I think it gives you an excellent foundation to your career, especially having tried multiple teams I have got an understanding of what I want to do in my future career. The skills I have been taught too have really set me up for success.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

5/5
Highly, HR always put on trainings and we have an entire week twice a year designated to training when you're on the grad scheme. Additionally the societys at Visa put on optional trainings so there's always way to upskill

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
My managers and HR managers have always been kind and supportive and actively looking to uplift me. However, it's evident that some managers have more time than others. Despite this, I think the support at Visa is excellent especially because they have benefits like counselling and time off for family reasons.

How is your work-life balance?

4/5
Depends on the team. In some teams it's very much a 9-5 with an hour lunch, however, in some teams it's a 6-6:30 with 30min break

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
The culture at Visa is great and very positive. There are lots of societies you can join to meet people similar to you with the same interests. I think Visa hires great people. And the policies are supportive of people, offering WFH days but also work from another location option for 6 weeks of the year.

How would you rate Visa initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
Great, it has a society devoted to these topics and people working on diversity and inclusion.

How would you rate Visa CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

4/5
I am not well educated to speak on this

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Visa to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Because of everything I've already said in terms of culture and meaningful work. Visa cultivates a positive environment, hires well and the work often makes you feel valued.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

5/5
It's described as a rotational programme and thats exactly what you do. Also, you get to choose 3 out of 4 of your rotations

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Visa?

Research Visa. It's a complicated company and niche - understand what Visa does and how it makes money and if you don't know an answer just say that - people value honesty and don't expect you to understand everything about this niche company.
