Treasury Summer Intern Review

As a Finance Intern within Visa’s Treasury team, I support a range of activities related to foreign exchange risk management, liquidity management, and treasury transformation initiatives. My role involves analysing financial and treasury data, maintaining reporting tools and dashboards, and assisting with projects that help optimise treasury operations and improve efficiency. On a day-to-day basis, I work closely with stakeholders across Treasury and Finance to support ongoing business activities, prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership, conduct research into industry trends and emerging treasury technologies. The role provides exposure to both the operational and strategic aspects of corporate treasury, allowing me to develop analytical, technical, and stakeholder management skills while supporting the management of financial risk and liquidity within a global organisation.

Yes, during my internship I have developed both my technical and professional skills. I have strengthened my analytical and problem-solving abilities, improved my proficiency with tools such as Excel and Power Apps, and gained a deeper understanding of treasury functions including FX risk management and liquidity management. I have also enhanced my communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills through collaborating with colleagues across the business and supporting strategic treasury projects.

I received a high level of support throughout my internship. My manager and team provided regular guidance, feedback, and opportunities to ask questions, while also giving me the autonomy to take ownership of projects and develop my skills independently.

The company culture was very positive, collaborative, and supportive. Everyone was approachable and willing to help, which made it easy to ask questions and learn from experienced colleagues. Despite working in a fast-paced global organisation, there was a strong emphasis on teamwork, inclusion, and professional development. The atmosphere was welcoming and encouraging, and I felt trusted to contribute meaningfully to projects while continuing to learn and grow throughout the internship.

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and found it to be a highly rewarding experience. It provided the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, develop new technical and professional skills, and gain valuable insight into corporate treasury within a global organisation.
