Overall, my experience at Visa has been incredibly positive. I've had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, build strong relationships across the business, and develop both professionally and personally. The support from my team, exposure to senior stakeholders, and ability to contribute to real client and business opportunities have made this a highly rewarding and valuable experience.

As a rotational graduate role, my responsibilities have been varied and have given me exposure to many different parts of the business. This has included supporting client-facing activities, developing presentations and proposals, streamlining internal processes, experimenting with AI tools and sharing learnings across teams, conducting market and industry research, and presenting insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.

My role gives me a significant opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by my team. As part of a rotational graduate programme, I have been trusted with real responsibility and ownership from an early stage, rather than simply observing. I feel the role is preparing me very well for a future career in payments. The rotational nature of the programme provides exposure to different areas of the business, allowing me to develop a broad understanding of the payments ecosystem while building a diverse set of skills. Each rotation offers different types of work, team dynamics, and stakeholder interactions, which has helped me adapt quickly and gain experience in a variety of environments. This combination of industry knowledge, practical experience, and exposure to different teams has given me a strong foundation for my future career.

he graduate programme provides multiple layers of support, including a dedicated HR contact who oversees the programme, a line manager within each rotation team, a buddy within the team to help with onboarding and day-to-day questions, and a graduate buddy from the year above who can share advice based on their own experience. This support network makes it easy to ask questions, seek guidance, and navigate new rotations, while also ensuring there are regular opportunities for feedback and development.

My work-life balance has been very positive. While there are occasional periods where I may need to work later to meet a deadline, this is the exception rather than the norm. Visa places a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, with initiatives such as summer wellbeing hours that allow employees to finish early on Fridays. The hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days working remotely, also provides a good balance between collaboration, flexibility, and personal time.

I've found it to be very supportive, welcoming and collaborative, with far less emphasis on hierarchy than I expected from a large global company. People are approachable regardless of seniority, and I've always felt comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and getting involved in discussions. There's also a genuine focus on helping people develop, whether that's through feedback, mentoring or giving individuals opportunities to take on new challenges.

There are active employee resource groups (ERGs) with regular events and initiatives throughout the year. We have free lunches to celebrate different holidays and festivals around the world. It is a global organisation so you work with many diverse people and the culture is generally very inclusive of this.
