Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
A large part of my role involved completing daily revenue checks, including validating restaurant and outlet data, reviewing Conference & Events (C&E) revenue, and identifying any unusual transactions that required further investigation. I worked closely with hotel teams to resolve any issues and ensure financial records remained accurate.
I was also responsible for creating and reviewing routing packs each day. These packs contained details of items and services that had been provided free of charge or at a discounted rate within the hotel. By reviewing this information, we could verify that all adjustments were appropriately authorised and help reduce the risk of fraud, revenue leakage, or incorrect billing.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
It was quite a busy year and at times it did get stressful due to workload and timing, but that was mainly down to the team being stretched rather than the role itself. Despite that, the experience was very positive and I still felt supported throughout. Looking back, I’m really glad I did it as I learned a lot and got a great insight into finance and accouting.
