Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

In the morning when I come into work at 8 we are usually sent to do fleet deals. This involves dropping cars and vans to different garages around Limerick for our customers. When I come back to the office i am usually checking in customers. My role involves dealing with customers providing excellent customer service and getting sales on excess protection, roadside assistance and fuel.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility in enterprise, this made my internship more enjoyable as I was thrown straight into the deep end.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

My teamwork and communication skills have most definitely improved. I am constantly dealing with customers who may have been in an accident or have had their vehicle towed away. My IT skills have also improved as I have been working with computers and software I hadn't seen before. Although it did take me a while to get used to this. I got help from everyone in the office and I was able to ask questions when I needed which was great.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received plenty of support from both my branch manager and area manager as well as my colleagues in the branch. I also had a check in call with the company's talent acquisition specialist.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Company culture was very positive. Atmosphere in the office is always positive everyone was always very chatty and friendly. Everyone made me feel welcome from the start and was very helpful when I had questions as I was getting used to using the different systems.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my placement because everyone in the office was similar age to myself. I found I got along with everyone very well and everyone was always friendly and nice to me. I grew particularly close to two of the girls in my branch, and this made me look forward to coming into work each day.
