Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Creating process documentation to build gensets on the manufacturing line. Build Support for new projects involving recording all issues and relaying the information back to wider teams to solve issues for the next builds to eventually reach regular production.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. Sometimes I was left to aid build independently meaning I was soley responsible for capturing issues and solving some issue while out on the line.

There was support form my direct team but as a women in engineering there wasnt loads of support as a young women in a team of all men.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Culture was okay difficult as we have a lot of work going on on site so most people in the offices worked from home. Very stereotypical 90's engineering atmosphere.

Go out and ask what oppourtunities there is as they aren't made obvious when you are there. anything extra you want to do just ask and they will help.
