Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role oversees procurement of inventory and supplies by executing established buying strategies. A core aspect of my role is to support Cummins’ engineers, by raising and expediting part orders to facilitate the production of prototype turbocharger builds. This responsibility involves communicating and co-operating with global suppliers to achieve optimum costs and lead times – sustaining cost-efficient and high-quality production processes.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I had the opportunity and autonomy to lead the purchasing of numerous projects once I felt confident with the key aspects of my role. I built personal, collaborative relationships with other departments and suppliers
