Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Cummins?

In summary my graduate role was amazing, every member is supportive and creates an amazing atmosphere to develop there skills and experience. Questions are not a chore for any of the teams with all happy to help guide you and share there knowledge no matter there seniority in the business.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I started split across 2 teams,
I was a part of the team responsible for releasing and developing a full product
I was a part of a team responsible for specific components able to develop new design ideas and test mythologies deepening my technical knowledge
I enjoyed seeing both sides of the fence able to develop in multiple disciplines

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
No work assigned to me was work that senior members of the team haven't done or wouldn't do, your work often feeds into many other work streams to create a bigger picture, frequently that bigger picture is shared with you so you understand how you are contributing to the overall project / company. Work you do is always credited with to you.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

5/5
Cummins offer some amazing scheme's that are open to every level of employee, to name a few:
A matched private pension,
employee stocks scheme,
Cycle to work scheme,

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

5/5
All 3 managers i have had, cared for my future and career making sure my achievement and progress was documented

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5
Training sessions are ran throughout the year with most being optional
If you want or require an experience, managers are understanding and willing to help facilitate your development

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
I have yet to find a member of any team that is unwilling to support you, within reason you are able to reach out to any level of seniority for support without having to worry about it.

How is your work-life balance?

4/5
Unfortunately like every company there are teams which struggle for time and are very stretched. There is no pressure from direct managers to work more than your hours and frequently remind you of that. However sometimes you can feel personal pressure that you need to do more to stand out.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
All my mangers have been very flexible and understanding with the contracted option to work from home 2 days of the week. Many managers are okay with you starting late or early or taking longer lunches (within reason) aslong as by the end of the week you have done your contracted hours.
The company strives for the best culture, with support groups for everything and anything. I couldn't have felt more welcome in every department, being invited to all after work events and being a genuine part of the working machine

How would you rate Cummins initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
Frequently meetings and many groups to push for a equal world for all

How would you rate Cummins CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

5/5
Cummins mandates that all employees volunteer on company time through there scheme to better the local community
