Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was the Distribution Operations Intern and this involved maintaining Hiltons connections with their third party partners.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given the same responsibilities as a full time employee. This was great as it allowed me to really develop the skills of a fulltime worker and the experiences.

Yes I have developed many new skills during my time at Hilton. I have learnt how to use many different types of software, which will greatly benefit me beyond university. I also developed my time management skills and massively improved my communication skills.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received plenty of support from the university through my dedicated placement tutor. Alongside this everybody at Hilton has been super supportive and helpful throughout my placement. I can't recommend Hilton enough for how nice and supportive everybody is.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture at Hilton is amazing. It is like one massive family. Everybody is very welcoming and friendly not just the people in your immediate team. I have not had a single issue since starting my placement and I have really enjoyed my time here. The large cohort of interns also helps with developing a strong learning support structure while on placement.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my time at Hilton and I had a great experience. I have had some amazing opportunities during my time here such as work Dallas Week and a team meeting in Madrid. Alongside this I have done so many other amazing events. I can't recommend Hilton enough as a amazing company to do your internship with.

What advice would you give to others applying to Hilton

I would say that its important to be yourself in interviews and don't panic. Always remain calm and confident, even if you know your answer is not amazing. The interviewers really just want to know who you are as a person.
