Hilton Worldwide Sales Intern Review

Moving around all the different Hilton Worldwide Sales departments, getting a broad understanding of the whole team. During that time, I focused on building strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers, while contributing to projects and sharing insights across teams to improve efficiency. Majority of work comes from supporting the account managers with their customer based activities including customer appointments and events. Often having to get involved in these appointments with the aim of driving business through our accounts.

I experienced a clear progression in responsibility throughout my internship. Starting in my first team, I built a strong foundation by learning the basics of the business and how Salesforce supports the conversion side of sales.
As I moved through different teams, I was given increasing ownership and became more involved in customer meetings and events.
Over time, I took on significant responsibility, including organising large scale events, presenting directly to customers, and even hosting a panel at a conference.

Presenting to customers, relationship building with internal and external customers, prioritisation, adaptability, storytelling ability.

Lots of support and guidance with weekly calls with my Director of Sales giving me constant guidance on how I can improve. While also been given the opportunity to consistently connect with my Senior Director and network with Vice Presidents in my time as well.

Fantastic company culture which encourages networking across teams, which gives you the license to go out of your comfort zone connecting with even the most senior colleagues.

I really enjoyed my placement year and felt genuinely invested in by both my team and the wider organisation. Through the coaching and guidance I received, I have left the role with stronger skills and significant growth in my sales capability. I also gained valuable experience by attending and supporting some large scale, high impact events. I would highly recommend the experience.
