Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Check-ins, selling Insurance, calling body shops, driving to pickups or corporate establishments, charging customers for damage. Phone calls, customer service pushing for better reviews, training new hires.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

A lot. We are trusted and have a lot of responsibility on our shoulders. We are expected to have excellent communication and be efficient. We work long hours and are expected to stay until the days done, in order to sort certain pre deliveries or make sure that we have done all the tasks for the day, just because we have a small team. We are scheduled until 6 but often overrun by 2 hours. The work is good experience but very draining and the hours are extremely long. I would recommend as it forces you into uncomfortable situations where you must think quickly, and in terms or confident development it’s great.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Training is great. In the branch you are expected to learn stuff on the job. There is never much time for line manager to train you much. There is also Monthly 1on 1s which are great to track progress and see how we’re doing.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

They take us out for meals and events so you do feel valued as an intern. The culture is good and connected, however due to the scale of it and people often coming and going regularly it’s hard to keep track of it all sometimes.
