My role as an adult are worker is to support 3 young adult to live as independent as possible. Ensuring their safety, promoting their independence and making them feel heard.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It was very interesting and I was well supported by my manager, Christine Why. It motivated me to enroll on level 3 which I’m currently progressing well on.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve built confidence in supporting the individuals in my care and also working in collaboration with my team. Self awareness, reflection and emotional resilience keeps me going. I used to take feedback negatively but since completing my level 2, I realised that it’s mostly focused on growth and positivity.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Level 3 is a bit disorganised as there are really short staff and not attending to students work. It’s discouraging.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I’m fully supported at my work place. Each week I get 6hours time study at work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Great in my level 2 but currently in level 3 it’s hard I must say. They admitted to being short staff.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It’s helped me so far with safeguarding, self safety and health and safety.
