Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Lead, manage and develop the e-learning specialist and e-learning administrator
 Key member of the L&OD Senior management team (SMT), act as a supporter and trusted advisor
 Deliver evidence-based solutions that meets the evolving needs of the organisation.
 Build close relationships with the key internal stakeholders including the Central People Teams
 Attendance and contribution at monthly L&OD meetings and SMT meetings
 Ad hoc project work to support organisational priorities
 Work with Subject matter experts to ensure that excellent standards of learning are continually
monitored and evolved
 Work with subject matter experts (SME) and L&OD colleagues on development and reviewing content
for all forms of divisional training
 Ensure all specialist strategic objectives and requests are met in a timely manner and to the highest
quality providing relevant updates to the Head of L&OD of any key challenges that arise.
 Lead on a monthly Learning management system (LMS) provider steering group with Priory
stakeholders to give updates on key projects and system changes and to receive feedback on
improvements that are required
 Maintain the Service line training offering and keeping up to date with organisational requests
 Working with the E,D&I chair and Diversity chairs to ensure all E,D&I training is up to date and
reflective of the organisational approach
 Working with HR Operations and Colleague Network Leads on wellbeing training inclusive of Mental
Health First aiders
 Partner with all specialist and service leads to ensure the training offering is fit for purpose
 Work with the data team to ensure that allocations of role-specific training are maintained and updated
with input from SME’s
 Manage the project management database alerting the Head of Learning and Organisational
Development to any deviation and providing reports on progress across all strategic objectives
 Lead on any developments and improvements to Priory’s LMS system on a strategic level to ensure ROI
on our investment with the support of the E-learning specialist
 Horizon scan the external market and making recommendations for what LMS and other digital
developments are out there and what Priory should be planning in to future proof our training delivery

At times I feel there is a lot to do, and can struggle to fit it all in with the day job, but I am achieving a qualification that I have wanted to do for the best part of 10 years.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

On the programme, I am learning new things constantly which is contributing to the way that I work. I have changed some of my practices in line with my apprenticeship.

Organised very well. Structure wise - sometimes it can feel like a lot of work to do in 1 go.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer are very supportive. They have registered me to do this qualification and are funding it from the levy pot.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider have been amazing. They are always on hand to help when I need it.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Much better. I have learnt things that I didnt know, and am now using this in my day to day practice.
