Spring Participant Review

We were given exposure to the many lines of business at J.P. Morgan through presentations, case studies, and group projects we worked on. Broadly, each day focused on an LOB, such as Thursday on GCB and GIB. Fast paced and intense, it was week full of learning. Overall a great and humbling experience.

Very interesting, gave me the opportunity to get closer to the different LOBs and that way see where I fit in best. I did go with my mind already fixed on IB, and the week actually reinforced my interest. Not just because of the program’s insights but also because of the people I spoke with throughout the week. They were all very inspiring and helped me understand the different teams available. Great culture and people!

The two main skills I would highlight are preparing a deliverable with tight time constraints and with unfamiliar content. The ability to perform in uncomfortable circumstances and still pull through with confidence. Those are the skills I feel were most exposed to have to continue being improved.

The main thing I noticed after speaking with different people in the different teams within IB was the exceptional balance of technical excellence as well as being down to earth people. This was a consistent pattern where everyone was not just smart and ambitious, but also easy to speak to and helpful. Furthermore the winning culture was stark. Everyone is committed to doing everything they can to make J.P. Morgan number 1.

To a very large extent. It is true that by seeing everything you cannot go into that much detail within a specific LOB. But it makes sense to be structured that way because it’s our own responsibility to then dive deeper into whatever intrigues us.
