Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as an apprentice project manager currently involves surveying different sites across my region, to provide an upgrade on security elements. I am regularly out on site, getting a full feel for the company and our assets. When not on site I can be working remotely or in office, here I will be doing the background works of a project, such as health and safety, budgeting and liaising with stakeholders.

I have learned many new skills in terms of managing a project and the fundamentals required to do this.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My learning is structured my the Growth Company online. My on the job experience has less structure as we are covering the full scope of what it means to run a project, as and when the work is required.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a great amount of support from my employer and a very grateful.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I do receive support from my training provider on occasion, but there have been times that i have requested more support and been ignored.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am really starting to see the link between the training provider learning and what I do in my day job, which is very good.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are networking events for apprentices that the company run, unaware of any sports teams.
