As a first year apprentice, you don’t get any sites to commission. Hence you could join graduates in their site visits and help them out in on site tests.
You could be given admin tasks like: ordering PPE, sending out emails, updating shared documents.
However, all tasks that you have depend on the availability of your manager

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

As in my team there is a larger new talent group, hence a more youthful group, something that ensures I can ask for help whenever needed, and a more pleasant work life.

With the site visits and projects I have been involved in, I have learnt a lot of information about the water industry and Severn Trent as a company

Mainly dependent on your personal line manager.
Personally, I feel that my manager is someone that’s been too busy, hence I’ve never been given the amount of work I ask for, however many times I do ask for work. But with other apprentices, I’ve seen them given a lot of tasks to help them improve in their apprenticeship.

We are able to give back feedback about the university course we are doing. And business leads go back to the university with the feedback
