Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My Apprenticeship is made up of 4, 6 month placements. My first placement was in the New Talent team working with programme management. I absolutely loved it, being able to get involved with the New Talent Business Partnering team to gather demand for apprentices, graduates and all of our other schemes. I now work within Employer Brand, where im responsible for sourcing candidates from around the business who may be good at creating content - Im also responsible for making this content. Overall I'm responsible for ensuring that Severn Trent brand themselves as an attractive employer to those looking in.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I absolutely love my programme! Honestly the people i work with make it. I've been supported every step of the way, having a mentor and many others who act like one. The work is fantastic as well, I'm given loads of work to get stuck into which i value. The office is fantastic, very much a London high-rise like office in the centre of Coventry is definitely different in the best way possible.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Absolutely. In my current placement, my project management skills have improved drastically since I'm having to manage so many different campaigns and ideas from all around the business. Alongside this, my communication skills and confidence has also build alongside this. I've of course learnt skills relating to using software's as well such as Canva, Excel, PowerBI etc

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
Very well structured. As mentioned, I have 4, 6 month rotations around different areas within HR to get an understanding of what you do and don't like.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
Plenty amounts of support! Cannot praise my employer enough, amazing benefits, plentiful amounts f support such as a mentor. Everyone around you is more than happy to support you as well.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

3/5
I personally am struggling with the training side of the course. By no means am i academically blessed so I'm sure anyone else would b completely fine. When i need a help with my course, I can of course send an email but for me nothing beats that in person, human interaction. Unfortunately, our training provider is all digital, so no face to face contact which makes it difficult sometimes when I need to speak to someone, but instead either have to schedule a meting, or wait hours/days for a reply on email.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
I absolutely see its relevance. a HR course is obviously going to play in impact into my role which is HR based. I'm sure it will set me up with foundational knowledge of HR.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Absolutely. In fact ive been responsible for helping set up our first ever Severn Trent Golf Society! We also have a website called clubhub which is a space with all of our different clubs available. In addition, we often have work team socials.
