Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Vistry?
It was amazing, everyone is so friendly and understanding and willing to help you learn
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I did Quantity surveying, estimating, buying, regional finance, land & planning, and construction which all were very valuable in giving me an all rounded view on the business and industry and help me be a more proficient Quantity Surveyor which is what I moved into after this.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Withing my role I was able to get a lot of responsibility early on which helped massively with my development and how much they trusted me moving forwards, they did ensure that I was happy to take this on first and that they could assist if it ever became too much.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I got a company car straight away which is great starting of as it takes away getting a car and you can have a new one as well as not paying for insurance or maintenance of the car and it allows 2 extra drivers, also the health and dental benefits alongside many others are some of the best.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Being able to see all the different departments is a road map for future success and you will have more senior people jealous of the opportunity and the perspective you now have
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I developed so many new skills that I didn't know I would need when I first started out but then you get really good at them quick as you always need them and they will help you in many different jobs if needed.

How is the support you receive?

They line managers and buddy were always there to assist you knowing you were new to all of this, they also provided a mentor if you wanted which is a more senior person in the business that can help guide you in success, your fellow team members help you a lot as well
How is your work-life balance?

Great as they have work from home time as well as work on site which makes life a lot easier to balance
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

The culture is so friendly and nice that I was honestly surprised and am still unsure if it is only this company that is like this.
How would you rate Vistry initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

I would rate them highly, they have a lot of initiatives and groups and encourage all of the above.
How would you rate Vistry CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

As a house builder they try there hardest to be responsible and reduce their impact in many ways even when it costs more money to do so which surprised me a lot for a business
