Digital Design Apprentice. 2D drawings and 3D models of utility related infrastructure and components for a range of different schemes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Excellent programme, interesting and unique role. Have learnt a lot since starting here that will benefit me in the future.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt many new skills and have gained experience across a huge range of softwares. Main developments are in Revit and Autocad.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The best way to learn in my role is with frequent use of the softwares and a range of different activities. There are training resources available throughout and practice work to do, allows you to up your skills in anything new.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My team and the company as a whole are very supportive and help me progress well.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor is very supportive, there is pastoral and SEND support available. There has been past communication issues related to certain timelines.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification covers a broad selection of engineering and construction related topics. These dont always directly relate to my role, however every topic has been beneficial to gain a better understanding of the industry as a whole.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Endless amounts and its only increasing. lots of networking events, talks, sports teams, game meets, etc.

Brilliant company. So many company perks, Lots of support available, Very diverse community and many lovely people, Flexible location, Flexible hours, very rarely overworked, and great pay.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Severn Trent?
The Apprentice interview involves a team work practical. Show self confidence, be a prominent voice but drown other people out. Involve everyone there.
