Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I was a quantity surveyor, day to day this included contract drafting, stakeholder meetings including contractors, price and compensation event reviews, appications for payments and more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I absolutely love quantity surveying, I've been supported from the get go and now in a position where I feel confident to lead projects and manage lots of activities on my own.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I was completely inexperienced before this apprenticeship. I had no experience with anything in my daily role, this apprenticeship has directly followed on from my Alevels.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have a clear line of escalation and a clear line manager, my plan for development is managed well and my competencies are discussed in my 1 to 1s. I have been granted lots of opportunities to work with other people, other teams and on a wide variety of projects all granting me different experiences to develop my competence.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Hugely supportive and collaborative team both at works and from the apprentice "new talent" team who support from a apprenticeship management perspective. Everyone has taken time to talk me through things, support with any questions and help me develop
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Biweekly 1 to 1s, 6 monthly reviews where higher roles grade my performance, behaviours, set objectives and ensure I'm performing well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The theory is helpful to develop my existing knowledge from a Severn Trent side, it also supports in my knowledge of a contractors side which provides clarity over there interpretation and perspective on things allowing greater cooperation and preparation.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There has been multiple team level, department level and company level away days to network and meet people. This includes meals, full day conferences, apprentice only conferences, volunteer days, charity football and other sports games, golf clubs, etc. The opportunities to meet people and get involved in within the company is endless.

Its a really supportive, friendly and great set of employees which are willing to help with the inevitable challenges on a project level within the team
