Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have a designated day each week for college work. The rest of my week is spent on site working to resolve any issues, raising technical queries, red lining drawings, taking part in site walks and learning as much as I can from those around me.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my time up to now with Exentec Hargreaves, as well as my course with Skills4Stem, everyone at Hargreaves wants the best for all apprentices at of the apprentices and wants them to succeed. Its a great environment for progression.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Working at Hargreaves has improved my communication skills massively, I have also learnt lots of new skills such as the use of software like Navisworks, AutoCad and Revit, along with many more. Hargreaves is a great environment to grow in any area you wish.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure has been consistent from the start and agreed from the beginning of my apprenticeship. We set up an apprenticeship plan which contained skills I updated monthly with new skills I learnt.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received lots of support from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The support from my provider as a whole has been very good, the only complaint I have is the tutor changed towards the end of my course (out of the providers hands), which was a shame.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification work is massively helpful in my day-to-day work, as well as gaining a wider understanding of the construction industry as a whole.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are annual Christmas parties as well as rewards events such as last year a group attended an NFL game held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. We also have an event arranged to go and watch Epcot Races 2026. However, I do feel there could be slightly more.

Why?
Definitely, as I've mentioned, there is so much support within the company - everyone wants their peers to succeed. There is also lots of promotions within the company, Hargreaves favor up-skilling their employees to take on different roles as opposed to hiring externally.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Exentec UK Hargreaves Ltd?
I would say to make sure to try and sponge as much information and learn as much as you can in whichever department you are in, there is a great mix of young people and more experienced employees who want to pass on as much knowledge as they can - so take advantage of it.
