Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working on the front desk as a Receptionist Supervisor I do a lot of work on the computer for the admin side of reservations, we are checking guests in and out of the hotel as well as assisting them throughout their stay alongside lots of phone calls and email that we are to send and receive.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying the programme in terms of improving my customer service skills when it comes to how many guests I interact with daily, although the workload is a lot on top of my already busy day to day at the hotel it is a great way of both learning new skills as well as encouraging the work that I am already doing on the desk.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have both learnt new skills as well as highly developed my existing skills, the 'off the job hours' is a great way of tracking what I am learning as well as what I am improving on and is a great way to track my progress.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure is great as the website tracks and displays our progress and work throughout the journey; I am always able to look at view my work and see what I have coming up. It breaks it down into months and displays which work I should have done meaning I am able to plan out accordingly.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support is really well managed, we have meetings that aim to be monthly or so to go through work and any concerns that may come up.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We are able to communicate with our mentors through the website as well as email at any time as well as regular meetings to work through our progress and track our learning. I find these really helpful as it is a chance for me to look over the work I have done and gives me the chance to ask for help and feedback where needed.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My apprenticeship is constantly teaching me ways to improve my customer service skills, skills that come up in my job daily.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We don't have extra curricular activities at my job but there are lots of training courses available in hopes of improving our knowledge and making our way up ibn the company.

I think it is a great apprenticeship to improve your skills and they are very helpful when it comes to the work we are doing and how to move forward.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lifetime Training Group Limited?

My biggest tip would be to manage your time as well as possible, the workload is high and the months can go by very quickly alongside the busy job so it is best to attempt to do your work as and when you can in hopes to be in front of schedule rather than behind targets.
