Overall, how would you describe your experience at Sayer Vincent?
Sayer Vincent have a very positive culture and focused on trainees. The structure of audit hubs and teams means you are able to work with the same people and build good relationships. You are given responsibility early on which allows for good development.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
You are awarded responsibility early and have a large amount of ownership. The managers I have worked with have been very supportive and approachable.

Your given responsibility early and have manager/partner contact early on. The audit teams are small (2-3people) so very easy to have a voice and feel valued.

The pay is ok, however likely below market average. Increases are based on role progression (so one a year).
There are little to no perks or benefits. Holidays are statutory minimum only.

The soft skills built here are really valuable. You get opportunity to lead jobs and teams throughout your training contract. it is however a small firm, and there is less opportunity for rotations or working in different sectors which compared to other firms limit our experience.

Actual work balance is good, in summer busy season often have to do overtime, but there is a TOIL policy in place.
Exam and revision periods do make this tough though and is a big commitment.
