My role as an ACA trainee is to attend audits, scrutinise the financial statements, and test the clients accounting systems in order to ensure that the financial statements are true and fair.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my job, as it suits my inquisitive nature. My company is really supportive of me and has pushed me to grow as a person.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learn many new skills, including but not limited to: communication skills with clients and colleagues, practical skills like use of excel and accounting systems, as well as fundamental accounting and audit skills necessary to flourish in my role.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is structured based on exams and skills, and allows you to push yourself through developing new skills. It clearly shows what you need to work on to reach the next level.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive quite a lot of support from my employer, as if I feel like I am worked too much or have too much on my plate, my line manager often steps in and we work towards what we can do to reduce it. I feel supported by my colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive quite good support, as I am given time off for college to study towards my degree apprenticeship. I am also given the day of exams off of work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification allows me to grow as an auditor, as well as helps me understand more of the management side to better understand my clients.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Quite a few, there are football teams, a 5k race for professional services in the area which my firm sponsors, as well as quarterly social events for the entire firm and smaller more frequent office wide social events.

I really enjoy my job, I work with great people, and I think we are treated really well and have a great office environment for a firm of this size and in this area.

Have a genuine interest in the industry, come in with confidence and just be yourself.
