Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
I am involved in many day-to-day processes to ensure events run smoothly and I also get the occasional opportunity to contribute to new events or partnerships.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
The apprenticeship has been great so far, I enjoy what I am learning and it has been very easy to see how it relates to my role and how it can be applied in practice. My manager is also very supportive and flexible with my seminars and course work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have definitely developed my skills in this programme, especially using data bases, Excel, and various fundraising platforms. I have also learnt a lot more about business management in general.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
It's great, I have enough time to attend seminars and complete my coursework in between, the deadlines are very clear and manageable, and there is a lot of support available.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
A lot of support. Everyone in my team is supportive of my progress on this course, my manager is very open to any requests and offers me great flexibility around seminars and deadlines, and everyone is eager to help me decide on my final business improvement project soon.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
They are very supportive, I receive a lot of materials for independent research, and all of my questions have been answered very clearly and promptly.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
Everything covered in the seminars is helpful for my professional development and I can easily see how it applies to my current role.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
Working in the events team means that we are often away for fundraising events which provides great opportunities for socialising across the whole department.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Alzheimer's Society to a friend?

Yes

Why?

It is an amazing place to work at. They are open, flexible, and offer great support and benefits, and working for such an inspiring cause is the biggest highlight. Getting to meet some of the supporters or service users my work impacts directly has been a great experience for me and I would recommend anyone to work in the charity sector, especially for Alzheimer's Society.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Alzheimer's Society?

I would suggest highlighting your passion and interest in the job role as it relates to the people that would be helped by the organisation.
