Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as an accounts and audit apprentice can vary on a day to day. We rotate every six months. I am currently in an accounts role. My day to day consists of completing accounts preps to finalise financial statements. The client will usually send a trial balance or bank statements which I will the put into our system/ working paper file, make appropriate adjustments and ensure disclosures are made. This may also include speaking with the client to get more information/ confirmation on information.

I have learnt countless new skills; in regards to soft skills I have enhanced my attention to detail, communication in a professional setting, being confident in myself. In the sense of professional development this is a continuous journey which I am learning every day, I have gone from the basics of accounting to being confident in putting together financial statements including within specialised fields.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure is well organised as a junior there are clear steps using our RL skills programme to move up the progression. The rotations are also a way to become well rounded in audit and accounts although for me personally my rotations have been more accounts based making me feel more efficient in this area.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

In regards to studies we get our time off to revise as well as college revision sessions. With my professional development we have access to MBL+ and other platforms to choose areas to develop in although this is understandably dependent on work level. With exams there is the support available should we need through the trainee charter however tighter rules on fails mean we must prepare business cases as to why we have not passed the exam. Although can be demoralising at first there are various ways to get further support after this.
