Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day-to-day basis, I manage and respond to service related enquiries from pharmacies, and provide accurate information where possible, escalating issues to appropriate teams to ensure timely resolution. I also manage the weekly communications of service updates which ensures our pharmacies are informed of any upcoming changes, deadlines or requirements. I also provide admin support including documenting queries, managing queries and doing weekly reports. I also manage our inbox and respond to any queries that way, as well as communicating with our other teams when necessary.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my program and feel positively engaged within it. Completing it has allowed me to develop both my professional and personal skills, while also allowing me to feel more confident within myself and communication but also it helps me gain real-world experience as I am learning new concepts which helps me better understand.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

One main skill I have improved is my communication, I regularly communicate with pharmacists and stakeholders on the phone which has allowed me to feel more confident. I have also developed strong time management and multitasking skills by prioristing, managing multiple tasks at once and working to deadline whilst ensuring my work remains accurate. I have also gained office skills, including adminsitrative processes and using systems efficiently one in particular being Excel, this has allowed my confidence to grow significantly. I have also strengthened my teamwork skills, by working collaboratively with my team and support colleagues to resolve issues effectively.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I find my programme to be well organised and structured clearly which provides a good balance between my day-to-day job and my learning. Sometimes I may struggle, but with prioritising tasks effectively I always make my deadlines.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive amazing support from my employer, they are extremely understanding and easy to talk to which makes it comfortable and easy to ask questions or raise concerns if needed. They provide me with both guidance and encouragement, supporting both my personal and professional development. Overall I feel well supported and valued within my role

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive good support from my training provider, they are approachable and friendly which makes it easy to ask for clarification when needed. They provide guidance and help has been available if required.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that is supports my role really well as the learing links closely with my day to day responsibilities. The knowledge I gain through my apprenticeship helps me better understand the business processes and allows me to bring what I learn into my work

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have never actively looked at these so far. But am aware that there may be activities available and this is something I would consider looking into in the future, as this will improve my communication and bonds with my colleagues
