I work as part of an audit teams under the supervision of senior staff, gaining practical experience while developing my technical account and professional skills. I support the completion of external audits by examining financial information to ensure it is accurate, fairly presented and compliant with accounting standards. The role combines technical analysis, client interaction and teamwork all while being supported through my studies to complete my qualification.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme, it provides a good balance between practical, on the job experience and structured learning, which has developed both my technical knowledge and professional skills. I particularly enjoy the exposure to a variety of clients and audit areas.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have improved my analytical skills, attention to detail and time management while also developing new technical audit knowledge, stronger client communication skills and greater confidence working within teams.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is well organised. I know what clients I am working on weeks in advance, as well as when I will be at Kaplan to complete the tuition for my exams.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive regular guidance and feedback from seniors and managers is provided. We have developed a supportive team environment where questions and feedback are encouraged.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training providers are very good, they help while studying the tuition and they provide online tutors who are always available.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification reinforces key audit and accounting principles and enables me to apply knowledge directly to my day to day work.
