Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
I work as an apprentice project manager in the rail sector at Balfour Beatty within the CRSA alliance.
My role is to support the planning and delivery of rail projects. This includes helping to track progress, monitor costs, and ensure work is carried out safely and in line with standards. I attend meetings, work with designers and engineers, and help check that plans are practical and ready for construction. I’m also involved in the early stages of projects, looking at feasibility, costs, and risks, and supporting the development of business cases and approvals.
Overall, I’m learning how projects are delivered from start to finish while supporting the team with day-to-day coordination and organisation.
