Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
My role involves managing recycling, waste, water treatment and environmental incidents on site. Completing environmental audits and inspections to improve efficiency and compliance within the centres. Providing expertise in environmental regulations and law when new projects are commencing.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I enjoy working and learning on the job. I am given adequate time at work to study and complete assignments. I do something different everyday and spend time around the site as well as in the office. The study content is interesting and relevant to my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have completed Bywater ISO14001 Environmental Lead Auditor Training externally, which has given me the confidence to be an efficient auditor and auditee in the workplace. The role as allowed me to develop my confidence, people management skills, time management, prioritisation and presentation abilities.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

3/5
I am at university in person approximately every 6 weeks for 3 days, have weekly calls and have time to study all around my work. My time at university in person seems disorganised however.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I feel fully supported by my employer to take any steps I need to better my learning.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

3/5
University staff are difficult to contact within the time frame I require their support.
The onsite workplace learning and development manager is always supportive when I raise concerns

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

3/5
Within the University we spend a lot of time exploring how the information we are learning can be applied to our role, and I do feel that it can be transferred to some extent.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

3/5
Occasional external trips to nearby cities
