Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Claims Administrator I support the claims handlers by handling administrative tasks and helping ensure new claims are reviewed and logged correctly. I handle systems such as the MOJ portal and the OIC portals, also updating suppliers bank details though an internal system called PIA.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I I find my programme overall really enjoyable. It is interesting and I feel that I'm learning a lot whilst gaining valuable experience.

I have developed my attention to detail skill when reviewing and updating information. I have built upon my organisational skills by managing multiple tasks and ensuring my work is completed accurately and on time.

The structure is very well organised and we are granted enough time to complete and hand in our apprentice assignments.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a good level of support from my employer. My team is approachable and willing to help, I feel comfortable asking questions when needed.

My qualification supports my role well, as it helps me to understand key concepts and improves my overall knowledge, which I can apply in my day-to-day tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes,, there are many extra-curricular activities. We have a whole company trip each year, have many activities going on after/during work which help to build connections across the company. It is a positive and inclusive environment.

I would recommend showing a genuine interest in the company and the insurance industry, being prepared to demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills. It's important to be open to learning, as there is a lot to take in depending on which team you are interested in. Be proactive and ask questions, as this shows initiative and will help you to develop more quickly.
