Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As an apprentice site engineer, I frequently visit sites spanning across a 186km region. These visits involve walkovers, ground condition surveys and supervision of the working party.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find what I do very enjoyable. There's a good balance between being in the office and being on site and the workload is manageable whilst not leaving me sitting idle.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been put on multiple courses that have developed my skills making me feel more confident in my role. Experience on the job has also developed my understanding of what is needed in my position.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There are some aspects of the programme which have been decided and have detailed information however, some information on what the plan is as I progress is still unknown to me.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Whenever I have questions or need support, a member o the team will always be open to helping resolve issues and instruct and educate me.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider usually gives detailed information making passing assessments possible.

Monthly quiz nights allow the workforce to socialise amongst each other. Weekly games of football keep us occupied when working away from home.
