Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I do lots of design work in AutoCAD making different drawings for various schemes and making amendments form client comments. I also participate in calls monitoring the progress of ongoing projects to update forecasting and communicate price changes to clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy all of my project work and feel that I am constantly learning helpful things to help me grow technically as an engineer and I feel supported in what I am doing. I enjoy the university less and feel I learn at a slower pace in that environment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have become very confident in AutoCAD and the various software I use along side it such as PDS sign and line, vehicle tracking. I have also become more confident in writing different types of risk assessments and reports.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured as i have set days when I am doing uni work and project work with consistent meetings monitoring my progress in project work and my apprenticeship as a whole.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I feel very supported at work by my mangers, mentors and other apprentices of various years. I know who to go to when i need help
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
I feel unsupported by my uni due to the lack of feedback and resources from lecturers. For tests, I receive just my final mark on a paper but no feedback on where to improve or where I dropped marks nor do we don't get to see our marked papers to observe our mistakes so I feel I have come to a standstill in my progress as I dont know what areas I should be spending more time on. In preparation for tests, we are given limited recourses for mock material especially in the number based questions when you need to check calculations and working out and can't google the answers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It gives me come context to what I am doing and what those in other teams are doing but doesnt help me directly in my day to day to do my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, I attend sports sessions (specifically run club and netball). I also attend various networking events and socials set up for early careers.
