Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
Carrying out general maintenance activities and working on projects to promote improvement to the process.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

4/5
I really enjoy my job and the college learning aspect. Aside from a few organisational issues and changes, everything is good

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
Learned lots of new skills since starting my apprenticeship. Also provides a great platform to develop any existing skills. Some of the things to expect to learn:
-Welding
-PLC Programming
-Electrical installation
-Mechanical Principals
-Fluid Power Maintenance

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

2/5
The only major downside to my experience is the lack of organisation and structure. Plans have changed regularly throughout my apprenticeship and our mentors/managers have too. If a clear structure was laid out from the start and followed, this would drastically improve the apprenticeship.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

4/5
I have generally never had any problems in receiving support when I have asked for it, though sometimes communication can be inconsistent and infrequent

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

4/5
They are there if we need the help and adjustments can be made to accommodate work towards our qualifications

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
Provides the basis towards most of the things you do as part of your role. I do believe a course tailored towards a specific discipline (mechanical/electrical) would be more beneficial though

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

3/5
There is a sports and socials group

Yes

Why?

Great place to do an apprenticeship if structure and mentorship is correct. They are happy to invest in their workers if equal effort is given back
