My role as a Regional Fundraising Support Coordinator involves the coordination of Regional fundraising campaign activities to encourage successful income streams. This encompasses digital marketing efforts, content creation, copy writing, campaign planning and execution, data reporting and analysis as well as many other ad-hoc activities on a day-to-day basis.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme is super enjoyable, though tough at times. I feel like I'm learning skills that apply heavily to the role I am currently in with the knowledge my qualification will lead to future prospects.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I've learned many skills throughout my time as an apprentice. I have been able to hone my confidence in writing, particularly in academic-style writing for assignments, as well as the expertise needed for effective copywriting for business. My skills in research have also significantly improved, allowing me to be able to identify the most appropriate information and has supported me in putting cases forward for improving business operations.
I've also generally grown in confidence since becoming an apprentice. I feel that with the growth in knowledge, I feel I am able to contribute more effectively to my role, and conversations within the workplace. The confidence increase has also meant I've become more adept at communicating with colleagues and stakeholders alike, allowing me to built fruitful relationships both within the organisation and with external parties.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I think the organisation and structure of the programme is fairly robust and consistent which makes it easier for me to organise myself and work around the programme.
There are a few issues with structure that I would say have had a knock on effect to how difficult it is to be organised, such as having a submission date at 4pm on a Friday for example. Whilst I recognise there would be reasoning behind this, it's a difficult time for full-time workers to be expected to submit assignments.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a fair amount of support from my employer. The team responsible for account managing apprenticeships are very good at keeping in touch with me to understand how I'm getting on in my studies and if I have any issues. They've been able to support me in making sure I am able to complete all of my off-the-job hours, getting a new skills coach when I felt that I wasn't getting the best support during the apprenticeship work-based learning, and have always offered out ways to develop my skills elsewhere during the apprenticeship. My current manager, with the help of the organisation, has also been supportive with my studies and has been hands-on in getting me the experience I need to be able to meet my apprenticeship standards.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel I receive a good amount of support from my training provider. Their team called "ACE", where I can book one-to-one tutorials, have been an incredible support for me in building my academic skills.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Without the apprenticeship I don't believe I'd have as much confidence or self-belief in the knowledge I have acquired.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are some activities to get involved with in terms of working groups for a diverse range of topics such as Welsh working group, BSL learning and Menopause network. There are some opportunities to attend professional networking events here and there. However there are no sports teams or social activities generally.

Why?
A diverse range of development opportunities as well as a supportive apprenticeships team who are really keen to support you in your development, as well as being unafraid of enforcing what you need to complete your apprenticeship.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Alzheimer's Society?
Sounds a little cringe but, really big yourself up. Identify your successes both personally and professionally, how you managed to get there and relate them back to the job. They really want to hear the great things you've achieved already!
Make the most of the opportunities they are able to offer, because I have had so much growth from this already.
