Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I have completed multiple placements around the business which linked directly to my uni degree. I studied Business leadership and management so spent time in the departments which linked directly to my course content e.g Finance, Marketting, Logistics, Customer account management and project management.
After gaining a wider understanding of the business, I have worked my way up to work in the project management team. I own a programme with another project manager where we have daily meetings around the status of the units, issues, quality concerns, customer visits and conversations and improvement solutions to meet customer demands.
The role challenges me daily and I split my time on the office and the shop floor to support production
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
My programme has taught me about business functions and different teams which supports business goals. This has allowed me to network with different stakeholders and truly get an understanding of the business as a whole and how different teams work with each other.
My degree also covered leadership and management which taught me the softer skills which prepped me for being a manager. This linked to my programme as I was able to put training sessions on, carry out coaching sessions, understand wellbeing and ethics and team management and forming teams.
I have also had consistent support with the early careers team who have guided me through every step of my course,

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My course has allowed me to understand and develop skills which I never thought I would.
I have been given the opportunities to present in site wide town halls, talk on the international womens day panel, hold customer visits, lead kaizen events, manage teams of people, coach other apprentices and promote apprentices to people at schools, network with people around the business and much more.
My key skills which I'm proud to have developed has been public speaking and presenting, building my confidence and networking.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme has been well structured and supported through my rotational placements.
I have also had clear structure when I was completing my courses, learning and assignments.
I was the first apprentice to do this course meaning there were a few uncertainties with placements and knowing what roles will best support my learning and studies. However, when we came to these challenges I worked directly with the early careers team to act upon it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have been given mass amounts of support from whether it being formal placement support or the more informal pastoral support.
I have built great relationships with my early careers team who have consistently pushed me and supported me throughout my most recent placements. I am also supported with trying to secure a full time position post apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Aston have been very supportive throughout my degree.
I do feel more on campus support and sessions would've supported my growth as the remote learning was difficult for certain course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I couldn't give more praise to how my course supported my placements. I was able to learn the context and theories and then apply them directly to the real working enviroment, All of my assignments were directly linked to my organisations/ business site meaning I was very engaged with my assignments and could practice what I was learning into the real working enviroment. This was a much better grading system then exams as I could really relate to the assignments and see how I was making an impact to my teams.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I have been part of professional networking events and Business resource groups to help support young professionals and females in a male dominated workforce
