Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in Demand Planning - my role involves using programmes like Excel, SAP and Power BI. I work alongside different departments to ensure demand levels are kept to and adhered to. I work with lots of data and schedules to ensure correct level of materials so the shop floor have the right amount of stock in order to make their parts.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it a lot. My team are very supportive and made me feel welcome the second i started my role, the learning and development team are always there whenever i have a query or a worry about Uni

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a multitude of new skills - I have become a lot more confident talking to people i have never met before, I am a lot more excel proficient, i feel im better at solving problems too amongst many more skills

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I know exactly what i need to do in my day to day role as well as being given enough time to complete uni work so i can stay on top of both.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots. Anytime i ever have an issue my team are there to support and they want to make me a success, i'm very grateful for their support!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Could be better. Sometimes are on top of it - in person they are great, and during online webinars, but trying to get a reply outside of that is tough, my coach usually takes some time to reply by which time the issue raised isn't relevant anymore.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Again same as before - somewhat. I think my role growth is attributed more so to my employer. in my case, what i learn at uni isn't directly what i'm doing at work so my performance in my role is more based off learnings from my work colleagues.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, there's football teams, there's many themed events (for example lots of charity events and celebrations for Veterans, Diwali, international womens day etc) many networking events like annual conferences and airshows.

Why?
Everyone is so welcoming its like a big family. You settle in fast. theres always work to do no matter your role. If you're overwhelmed with work speak to your manager and they will help you out. There's a big culture of helping you be the best person you can be.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Parker Meggitt?
It's a big difference from A-Levels or even straight Uni, but it's so worth it. My advice is not to stress, believe in yourself, show the company how valuable you can be, and just try your best. Degree apprenticeships especially are tricky to get into so even if you're not chosen keep the belief in yourself.
