Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an administration apprentice I was working alongside the main administrator, supporting a local construction project where a new college was being built. We supported the project team, through being responsible for the filing and organisation of any project documents, organising site visits with stakeholders, ordering any necessary office and welfare stock, booking and planning meetings on site, formatting and sending out project reports and lots more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
This apprenticeship offered me a foot in the door within a big company with many opportunities and routes for me to follow. Gaining experience in administration, while gaining a level 2 apprenticeship was just the start for me, as soon after completion I applied to a Graduate Apprenticeship degree in business management to expand my horizons and learn more in the business environment beyond administration. I was accepted and now I do study one day a week alongside working as an administration assistant for a new project the remaining 4 days a week. I wouldn’t have had the drive and motivation to do this further education without the initial support I received during my first apprenticeship at Balfour Beatty.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My confidence has increased an amazing amount and I believed this was helped through my apprenticeship at Balfour Beatty when I was enrolled in their Early Careers Programme. In my time during this programme I got to network with liked minded apprentices and graduates at a similar stage in their career. Completing various tasks with new people , including a residential trip has allowed me to develop my communication skills too.
