Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role as an Application Support Analyst within HR and Payroll systems, I am responsible for ensuring the ongoing compliance of critical business applications that support employees across the organisation. Issues can range from affecting a single individual to impacting thousands of employees if not resolved quickly and correctly.
On a day-to-day basis, I investigate and resolve HR and Payroll incidents and service requests. These can include simple configuration changes or data fixes for individual users, as well as more complex technical issues that require changes to backend programs or system logic. Where necessary, I analyse root causes, implement permanent fixes, and ensure solutions are properly tested to prevent reoccurrence.
In addition to reactive support, I am involved in proactive system maintenance and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and user experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed the programme as it provides an excellent balance between work, university, and personal life. The structure allows me to apply what I learn at university directly to my role, while still maintaining a manageable workload

I feel the programme is very well organised and clearly structured. The balance between work and university is well planned, with clear expectations and support in place, which makes it easy to manage alongside day‑to‑day responsibilities
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my employer throughout the programme. They are understanding of my academic commitments and have provided flexibility where appropriate, including allowing me time to focus on my studies alongside my work. This support has made it much easier to balance work responsibilities with university requirements
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My uni has a number of avenues for support, I have not had to use any apart from getting an extension for an assessment in my second year as I missed some time from an illness.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
My business offers regular out-of-work activities for free, I have enjoyed every one I have attended
