Overall, how would you describe your experience at Sayer Vincent?
I would describe my experience at Sayer Vincent so far as extremely positive. I think the vibes and overall atmosphere are very positive and the people here are supportive. I think beyond this, there are many skills and knowledge areas in which I have developed even though I have not been here long.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
As of now, my responsibilities can differ quite heavily on a role-to-role basis as it is at the whim of the manager/senior I am working under. In some ways this is beneficial as you are exposed to different kinds of challenges and areas of audit at different times, which is good for development. It also means the amount of ownership over your work can differ as well and sometimes you are more led than leading. Nevertheless, even in my short time here, there are still opportunities to lead. I think an understated part of the role is the kind of work you do and who you do it for (charities/social purpose orgs.) which make the work more enjoyable and purposeful.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I think again this can depend on who you work with but generally there is a quite a flat hierarchy so you can work/talk with anyone which can make you feel meaningful and valued. I also think your voice is always appreciated which is nice and the work you do is very much appreciated by coworkers.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I would not say there are many perks or benefits per se. I think the pay is fine but could be seen as quite low.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Given my limited time at the company, I think what I have done so far has prepared me for a future career in terms of skills (hard and soft) and in knowledge. This is because the opportunities are useful and plentiful but also, I can see from peers also on the graduate scheme that this preparation and development does not stop.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

As a graduate from a completely unrelated area to audit or accountancy, I would say the training provided and the day-to-day role have given me plenty of new skills I did not have before. For instance, I feel I am more proficient in digital tools like excel and have grown far more knowledgeable about audit and the areas which orbit it. Additionally, I think soft skills have been emphasised as well in training and built on in the day-to-day role, which obviously have benefited my skills as well.

How is the support you receive?

The support is very much there if you need it from all areas of the office. There is a buddy system which is nice. However, you may need to seek it out.
How is your work-life balance?

I think so far work has never really left the office so generally it's been very good. Although, in busier season, this may not be the case (as I have heard). I think they can be quite flexible with working hours, but you cannot work from home during probation. Also, holidays should be more.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Good culture. Flat Hierarchy. General atmosphere is very happy and positive. Values do feel generally present.

Several events for inclusion and I know there have been support and adjustments made to make the job more accessible to those who need it.

Yes
Why?
Generally, there are a lot of things that are positive about working here and they outweigh the negatives. I think the atmosphere and purpose of the work are big upsides.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I think it is generally what I expected in terms of what I expected. I think the quiet season is perhaps quieter than I expected but this is an audit-wide issue.
