Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently on placement with the M42 Box, structures team. As of now my day to day activities would be looking at assisting precast shells installation, concrete pours, pre pour/pour inspections and attending the daily briefing meetings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme because it gives me the perfect balance between academic learning and hands‑on experience. Being able to apply what I learn at university directly to real projects on site makes the content far more meaningful and helps me develop much faster.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have learnt new skills as well develop my existing skills, including a lot of soft skills such as team work, communication etc

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised with lots of great opportunities of placement within other sectors.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots of support from Balfour Beatty Early careers, BB Line manager. Good support system for apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive significant support from training provider- giving all the required resources needed to work toward the qualifications,
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I am able to apply what i learnt from my training provider at my workplace on site, helps me understand clearly how the works are implemented etc,
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I personally don't get involved at the work extra curricular activities, however there are lots of opportunities within Balfour Beatty such as the Duke of Edinburgh Gold and BB Early careers event.
