Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I collect data, which can then be used to work out solutions to production issues. This is often in the form of wastage reduction, improving efficiency, and assisting BIP and CI in their projects.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The content is extremely varied, from legislation, to management, to chemistry. It's a really fun course.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Various skills like: communication - I am becoming more confident; Problem solving - I am learning engineering techniques to solve problems; Overall food industry perspective as well.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Yup, good structure. I'm enjoying it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
They are very happy to help in all shapes and forms. From my manager to the support put in place by the leadership team, as well as my colleagues, everyone is extremely supportive.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Lincoln gives me plenty of support and options for support, and the tutors are more than happy to help with any issues I ever have.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
All the modules have very different content but it all links to the food industry in different ways. This gives me new perspectives and experience in areas other than my own, as well as knowledge on how it works (like legislation) if I ever needed it. Which I imagine I will a lot.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
One or two, though the sessions that should have been provided to connect the apprentices hasnt started, due to a few reasons like apprentices being on study leave during the sessions.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Premier Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company is well known for its generosity and great support and focus on its employees. Premier Foods has various interesting products to work on in my role especially, keeping he work intersting. And with all these different products and a growing portfolio, the company is very secure in the future. 'Don't keep all your eggs in one basket.'
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Premier Foods?
Depends on the role. But if you join as an apprentice, put in hard work and you'll get back what you put in ten-fold. You are rewarded greatly for doing a good job and being competent, but don't worry, no one will expect you to be a genie solving everyones problems
