Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves supporting the Project Managers I work with in the delivery of projects and internal deliverables. On a day-to-day basis, I assist with resolving client issues, organising and coordinating meetings, and carrying out project communications. I support the updating of key project reports such as PMRs, Weekly Flash Reports and NEC Builder reports, as well as producing meeting minutes. I also use tools including MS Project, Excel, Outlook and Teams to support my project management tasks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme and the work I do. The university course is clear and easy to understand and I find the topics covered in lectures engaging. My team is supportive which has made my experience positive.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed and strengthened a wide range of skills with this role. I have improved my communication, problem solving, and time management skills by supporting project teams and liaising with clients. I have also developed my project management capabilities, alongside improving my technical skills in Excel and MS Project through regular use on live projects.

The programme has a clear overall structure, but I take an active role to ensure my work aligns with my university requirements by managing my time and workload independently. This has helped me develop strong organisational and time management skills.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive constant support from my employer to ensure that my workload is not suffocating. If I require help I can easily reach out to people who would be more than happy to support me.

Yes there are many social events that happen at my workplace, usually once a month there is an office social event where you can network with other colleagues, enjoy and activity and relax after work. Invitations to professional networking environments also occur too.
