Working as a Junior Cost Consultant, I work with a property team that works on both new build and refurbishment projects in Scotland. I have many responsibilities such as managing post contract projects where I visit site to complete monthly valuations and monthly reporting to our clients. I also have pre-contract responsibilities where I complete measurement for estimate and cost plans.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme. I get to gain first hand experience that traditional university students don't get, whilst also earning a salary. I also get the help of my university mentor who helps me with my coursework & exams.

The programme is well structured with clear goals and regular check ins with support staff and my line manager.

I learn more about my profession from the professional work that I complete at work. Lots of the things I learn at University, I am aware of because of the work I complete at Arcadis.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I work as the social coordinator within my team as well as attending RICS Matrics events where I meet other young professionals completing similar routes as myself.
