Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a program manager, I guide and support apprentices during their learning journey. The program has helped me integrating elements of coaching to support learners development, and to ensure the program is transformational and impact the way they do things. It has also allowed me supporting colleagues with coaching to focus on their own development when leading and managing their teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the learning resources and the opportunity to develop my skills and behaviours when practicing. I find that practicing coaching is great as it helps me reflecting on what works, what does not and how I can change my own practice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Definetly, to effectively coach you need to tame your inner advice monster. I have learned to listen, give space, ask the questions needed to encourage reflection and thinking. I have learned about models and theories in coaching and also to measure the impact it has on development. This is really important to effectively highlight the importance of training.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Good structure between online learning, peer learning during workshop and on the job learning where we are encouraged to develop our skills whilst coaching.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer constantly ensure that I have the time to focus on my development. He is also supporting me when things are busy, making sure my tutor is aware of the challenges I am facing. He is also very good at recognising my achievement, which I find motivating.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I meet with my tutor every 8 weeks. I enjoy those moments to be able to reflect on progression. However, since coaching is a totally new job to me, I would have enjoyed to see my tutor more often to give more guidance. I would also prefer receiving feedback on my work quicker.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
As explained above
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Plenty as taking part in supervisions and learning from each others.
