Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
I provide leadership and oversight of recruitment operations, ensuring hiring managers receive a consistent, high‑quality service while maintaining robust governance, data accuracy, and applicant experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I particularly value the way the programme links theory to practice, as it allows me to reflect on my day‑to‑day work and apply project management tools to real initiatives within the recruitment service. This has increased my confidence in managing change, prioritising work, and communicating progress more effectively with stakeholders.
At times, balancing the programme requirements alongside operational responsibilities can be challenging. However, this has also helped me develop better time management and resilience, which are valuable skills in both project and service management roles.
Overall, I find the programme engaging, relevant, and beneficial to my professional development, and it has strengthened my capability to contribute to and lead projects in a structured and informed way.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have developed stronger project management skills, particularly in areas such as project planning, defining scope, managing risks and issues, and understanding governance structures. I now feel more confident using structured project management approaches and terminology, and applying these appropriately within an operational environment.
My stakeholder management and communication skills have also improved. The programme has helped me think more deliberately about identifying stakeholders, understanding their needs, and tailoring communication to different audiences. This has been especially useful when working with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
n addition, my problem‑solving and reflective practice skills have developed, as the programme has encouraged me to critically review how work is delivered, identify areas for improvement, and consider lessons learned from both successes and challenges.
Overall, the programme has enhanced my confidence and capability, providing me with practical tools and a stronger skill set that I can apply directly to my role and future projects.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
Roles, expectations, and assessment requirements are clearly communicated, which makes it easier to plan time and stay on track. The combination of taught sessions, workplace evidence, and reflective activities provides a balanced structure that supports both learning and practical development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I also receive ongoing encouragement and practical support, particularly when applying project management principles to real work activities. This includes opportunities to use live projects or service improvement work as evidence, which makes the learning more relevant and manageable.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
Support is provided through regular contact sessions, clear guidance on course requirements, and access to learning materials that are well aligned to the programme standards. The trainer and assessor are accessible and responsive, offering timely feedback and practical advice that helps me understand expectations and make progress with confidence.
I also value the structured reviews and check‑ins, which help keep me on track and provide opportunities to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps. Guidance on assessments and portfolio development has been particularly helpful in ensuring my evidence is relevant and clearly demonstrates competency.
Overall, the support from the training provider is consistent, professional, and constructive, and it plays an important role in helping me successfully balance my learning with my operational role and work towards completing the qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
The learning provided through the training provider helps me apply a more structured and consistent approach to my work, particularly when managing projects, service improvements, and change within recruitment operations. Concepts such as planning, risk management, governance, and stakeholder engagement directly align with the responsibilities of my role and have strengthened my confidence in leading and supporting initiatives more effectively.
