Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My basic day to day role involves the accurate processing of purchase invoices, coding, seeking approvals and raising payment runs. I am responsible for setting up new suppliers and doing due diligence checks. I import journals, complete bank recs, allocate payments, raise sales invoices and complete other adhoc tasks as and when required.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have found the program difficult due to the demands of working full time and juggling work, study and two children. However, I have enjoyed the program for the most part. I feel a huge sense of achievement for picking study back up later in life, and have developed so much more confidence at work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned new skills and developed existing ones. My excel skills are a million times better than they were before I started the course, and I have realised I had no understanding of bookkeeping before. I was just completing tasks in the order I had been told and hoping everything balanced at the end, but now I understand what I am doing and why, and can unpick my work to find the mistake and balance myself.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

There has been a few hiccups with material not matching lesson plans, and having to chase a few enrollments. However, any issues have been ironed out really quickly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Managers never complain that I'm away for training/teaching days, my colleagues are very supportive in assisting with relevant learning and additional support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Kaplan have been brilliant. The resources provided are really good and plentiful, talent coach is always on hand, tutors are really helpful, and there's loads more additional support if you need/want it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There is no doubt an improvement in my work since studying, and I'm definitely more valuable to the team being able to step up during busy periods, holidays or to cover sickness.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are loads of social events provided for free, events held at the office and conferences.

Why?
I have referred a number of friends to roles, some of whom were successful and now also work for the company. Being able to study remotely and having the flexibility to work from home allows me to be the best version of myself at work and at home.

Brush up on the companies values and goals, consider all your transferable skills and just be yourself.
